'Have you ever seen a lazy bee?' asks beekeeper Jim Robertson. Bees have worked tirelessly for man for centuries. But now they are vanishing. Wrangling with the enormity of this loss, 'The Last Beekeeper' follows the lives of three commercial beekeepers (form South carolina, Montana, and Washington) over the course of one year as they struggle with Colony Collapse Disorder.   • Aside from pesticides containing neonicotinoids, there's another one which is rarely mentioned currently. It's called Fipronil. Fipronil was previously a strictly regulated product used by professionals who knew how to use it. It is designed to attack social insects such as ants, termites and unfortunately, bees. It is now sold in products commonly found in garden centers around the nation. One drop can wipe out an entire hive. It is a disaster in the hands of the public

  • I love almonds! and bees. Which is why we have to start caring for bees sustainably. not commercially. and stop the crooks who make millions making poison that is killing huge populations of honey bees and threaten us.

  • I saw this doc and it told such a compelling tale - the struggle of both the bees and the beekeepers. Yet the bees don't have a fallback occupation like the keepers do. Good for 'clelstialrawgoddess' for keeping bees happy.
