NeoGraft FUE restores your own personal hair that you grow, wash and cut by extracting and transplanting one hair follicle at a time during a one day outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. The NeoGraft FUE method does not require the use of scalpels, and stitches/staples nor does it leave a permanent ear-to-ear, linear scar.
The old traditional "strip" method requires a section of the scalp to be removed from the back of the head. The wound created by strip is then stitched or stapled up. The more invasive "strip" method is also considered to have a higher risk of complications than FUE method due to potential nerve damage and an elevated chance of infection. Additionally, the long ear-to-ear permanent linear scar left behind by the strip method is also visible when hair is cut short.
