It's difficult to get an image from a $1000 dSLR that takes a correct image "in-camera".

Learn how to do color corrections with a good application!
Most video editing apps have color correction functions.
Learn how to use them.
When you see brilliant HD footage on TV or the web, it's only brilliant because the lighting conditions are controlled, and it's had color corrections, gamma corrections, levels adjustments and brightness & contrast corrections.

Not sure why you're mentioning D-SLRs on a video about video camera quality, but I'll just quickly say that it's perfectly possibly to get correct image in camera with many types of cameras, especially $1000 D-SLRs.. though I use a $2000 D-SLR that does a wonderful job too, lol.
I studied photography and digital imaging, so I know all about lighting control and image correction :)

I'm still not sure what you're trying to say.
I'm a photographer, so i have good STILL PHOTO cameras, but this is a test of a VIDEO camera.
