  • You are very lucky..!! where are you from? i am praying that i am eligiable to get the surgery as my vision in my left eeye is poor and i dont thing the surgery will improve vision anyway just boost my confidence and stop all the insults from others..i acquires strabismus overtime after beeing hit in my eye causeing some daage, its really hard to live with.....am so emotional right now...

  • @poohmoll The surgery will not improve your vision, but it iwll help your confidence and you may end up with more periphal vision. I hope you can find a good surgeon who specializes in strabismus surgery. Also, find a good vision therapist after the surgery to help your eye learn to work together again. Take care! Best of luck to you.

  • how much did you pay?

  • @poohmoll The cost is about $3500, but I only had to pay a $50 deductible and 10% of the cost. I still haven't received my bill yet but I figure it is going to be around $350. A small price to pay for such a wonderful change in my life.

  • I had two operations as a kid, but the eye turned again. I gave up and just lived with people looking to the left to see who I was talking too, confused. When I tried to introduce myself to a woman, and she would look away to see who I was talking to, and I would have to say " I'm speaking to you" I have a lazy eye. I would just feel less than " Less than". My confidence would just disappear. I'm just starting to look at options now at 37....

  • You are such a beautiful woman, even before the surgery. I am a 37 yr old man in Niagara Ontario. I was born with an eye that turns out. I welled up in tears listening to you talk about look into another persons eyes or face on in a camera. I didn't even want to have my picture taken face on with my exgirlfriend, as I shutterd at how we looked together. Her the pretty girl, and me the turned eye freak. I never vocalized, just thought it. Even though I am a man, it has damaged my self esteem too

  • why did you leave it so long

  • i had one eye turn in from birth! the bullying at school was horrific, it ruined my life, i had this put right aged 21, any kids out there with this get it sorted out!

  • everything you said is so true. im 18 and i was born blind in my left eye and it turns in a little too. its intermittent, so its not stationary, but its not fully straight. ive been bullied for it multiple times. and like you, i am a very pretty girl but my eye not being 100% like everyone elses sets me back a bit. my friends have hardly ever said anythjng about it, but i can tell by the way people sometimes look into me, that both my eyes arent straight at times. though its not noticable all t

  • @ mrsmfox thank u so much for sharing ur story it is very help ful congrates on your sucsess

  • @ camandheyly I am looking into the surgery and I think that the double vision is only temp ??

  • This is a screaming example of the importance of taking your kids and babies to the eye doctor for annual eye exams! When strabismus/amblyopia is caught in its developmental stages (infant-10 yrs old) it can be dramatically reduced with vision therapy. The eye doctors are NOT just for glasses/contacts, they really check for disorders and the health of the eye!

  • @aleibarra2006 Tell those people to stuff it. I have had people calling me nasty names too and I do not see why they have to pick on someone who cannot help what they have. Do not call yourself the cross eye girl, do not wear what they call you, you deserve better. One day you will get that surgery but in the mean time, please try and accept yourself.
