@makedonistoi Around the time this map was made Bulgarians were the most numerous people (and quite educated by the way, because education was considered a priority) on the Balkans - that's acknowledged by foreign ethnologists of the time.

This is not about greatness. The map does not show political borders (most of what you see was still part of the Ottoman Empire back in 1861). It just shows people by ethnicity.

Dear lady,

On the big map, for example, you can see what people lived about 150 years ago at the place where you live. That is just a suggestion. You can also use it in any other way that you like.

I've seen this map in the real book. It was criticized for the unrealistic amount of Turks in Bulgaria displayed.

@shefa43 we had no option for macedonian on the census,your exarchate and greek patriarchate policy of suckholing the ottoman bureaucracy proves this.every time you deny a macedonian,you shame yourself to the world,and your existence of self denial is re-enforced by denying the people who gave to you and europe the knowledge of who and what you are today.respect.your neighbour.

Before Russian Turkish war in 1877-78 Turks were 30%-45% Of total population of Bulgaria, they were majority in Northeast and South east, almost all cities were majority Turkish, they still are half of pop in deliorman and Kardzhali

The map doesnt show the Turks in FYROM at all where they were 20% of total pop and majority in Vardar valley
