If you have just passed your restricted test (on a motorbike) or are thinking of doing it soon, this video might come in handy! Im talking about when motorcycle dealers try to convince people they need a 33bhp certificate to prove there bike is restricted, which is a load of crap!

  • alright m8 passed my test in april and just looking around at bikes at the mo. m8 is selling his honda vtr 1000 which looks like a proper decent bike. what other half decent bikes are there which is good at the 33bhp limit. atm got a gpz 600 which aint to bad but would like something that looks half decent

  • @vivmyster Er.. No idea mate. I've never ridden a restricted bike but my brother knew a girl with a restricted GSXR600 and he said it was rapid. Apart from that I don't really know. O, and congrats on passing fella! Fat wheelies and dragging knee in no time.

  • thanks for the info bro! much appreciated, me & the father were in the dealers a couple of days ago for a VFR 400 NC30 and he asked if we would want the bike restricting (at a discount price!) in their own garage on purchase - he claimed that the you needed to send a copy of the certificate to your chosen insurance company to prove the bike is legal for the A class restricted licence. Glad we didn't get the bike there after seeing this! Props mate :)

  • @204021dR Glad I could help man! The best thing to do Is just phone your intended insurer and ask them If you need the paper work or not. Some will say yeah but a lot will say No. Even if they charge more you'll still save cos you not paying silly money for a worthless piece of paper! Good luck man! :)

  • bro i wanna do my restricted but i wanna know something about insurance, ok im 20 and will insurance companies insure a 600 cc bike even if it has been restricted to 33 bhp or will they say no or w/e

  • @andig4 Na man there insure anyone as long as you've got the dosh! lol Well most will, should I say. If you haven't already bought the R6 it might be worth getting a few quotes for other bikes if your worried about money. To my knowledge the R6 is the most expensive sports 600 to insure, but I don't know for definite. GOOD LUCK!
