The media has been full of scandals and claims about golfer Tiger Woods' private life. It is hard to miss these. But how should we as Muslims consider these? Can we read and listen to such matters? What is the purpose of news? What should we busy ourselves with? - Faraz Rabbani of SeekersGuidance ( http://www.SeekersGuidance.org )

  • Though I'm not a Muslim, I do agree with your main idea: Celebrity drama is a complete waste of time.

  • Terrorist

  • When you go to nightclubs, a good sized proportion is comprised of so called Muslims trying to get laid.

  • @aspirezakura Tiger woods is a perfect example as to how stupid you people can be. Islam prohibits extramarital affairs because of crap like the tiger woods scandal. Yet your dumbass has the audacity to call Islam the barbaric one. Where's the logic in that? Nevertheless Islam isn't bigoted, homophobic, or misogynistic. This is merely your premature and bigoted assumption. Islam never told us to punish a homosexual. We just choose to condemn them. Stoning them is unreliable and considered/impugn

  • What kind of question is that? (How should we, as muslims, view the Tiger Woods scandal?)

Does this guy have Borg envy or something? I know the Qur'an tells you how to wipe your ass, but does it really try to tell you how to think? Is it even possible to control the way you think? (It just sort of happens for me, I can't decide how may brain will work, it does that automatically.)

  • the fact remains...?

Maybe youd like to prove your point and be a bit more accurate and respectful rather than reiterate what you pick up without any academic education on the matter

  • So is medieval studies. What's your point?

The fact remains that Islam is incompatible with democracy and free speech, and is thoroughly bigoted in its beliefs.

That isn't to say that all muslims are ignorant or bigored, but that the religious texts support homophobia, misogyny and racism. (And of course, discrimination against those of a different belief system).
