Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley, a botanist from Seattle, was once a very intelligent, yet naive, college student who knew just about everything about plants. That is, until her professor, Dr. Jason Woodrue (aka the Floronic Man) conducted experiments upon her by seducing her with words of love. The experiments placed toxins in her blood stream that make her touch deadly and allow her to be immune to all poisons, viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The experiments also allowed her to produce mind-control pheromones that drove men wild at her touch. They also made her barren, and she has treated her plants as children, mothering them, ever since. Poison Ivy is depicted as one of the world's most prominent eco-terrorists. She is obsessed with plants, botany, and environmentalism. She uses toxins from plants and her own bloodstream for her criminal activities, which are usually aimed at protecting the natural environment. She creates love potions that ensnare Batman, Superman, and other strong-willed individuals. Ivy is known to be able to seduce men and women alike, often using pheromones to do so. Fellow villain Harley Quinn is her recurring partner-in-crime and possibly her only human friend.

  • @TheRhuen No, that is not how it works. Her body produces pheromones that only work on the opposite sex. It's the same reason two men can suddenly break into a fight for no apparent reason. The sweat in humans produces a smell to attract the opposite sex while causing hostility in the same sex. Poison Ivy amps this affect until it becomes hypnotic causing men to do her bidding. That's why it can't work on women.
