@gringolazlo I find Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, the first in the series to be gothic as well, if only in time period and architecture in some areas/

These games, especially the first soul reaver had amazing gothic atmosphere. I used to load up the game to walk around the barren, desolate landscape.

@onimas1 Pretty much. Defiance was supposed to be the game that lead to the grand finale, but Tony Jay's death and departure of the writers ensured it wouldn't happen.

@onimas1 No, remaking it is out of the question. You don't just remake a franchise like this, the rather huge fanbase would be more up in arms than the Deus Ex fanbase was prior to any information regarding gameplay was known about Human Revolution. The story wasn't finished in Defiance, there was supposed to be one more, but Tony Jay's death and the departure of three of the four major story writers (the fourth died) were the nails in the coffin for another LoK game.

@onimas1 Even if they did replace Tony Jay, how would they replace the key writers and still come off with the same story? This game series depends on the writers knowing exactly what's going on with the series. Bringing in someone new is bound to create all kinds of issues.
