  • In Pitkämäki's case his foot points right to the target (middle of the sector)but then again he throws to the left of the sector (or even where long jumpers are)

  • I agree with the 45 deg angle. It can be a sign that the right hip has room to move. If your foot is pointed too much toward the target, you've already turned your hip... Which takes away from the power generated by your lower body. Of course this is only one link in the long chain that makes up the javelin throw.

  • all correct; but I leared from René Didden, from Belgium :-) that the direction the foot point needs to be 45° on your running line;
