  • as Buddha once said, the secret to happiness is to want what you already have, not what you wish you had.

  • consumerism doesn't equal progress. progress would be living cooperatively and not selfishly like we do now.

  • @beproudtobebipolar was not directed to 'you' directly, just a general thought

  • @MissJuicyCathy I have. I've given lots of it to World Vision and Children International.

  • @beproudtobebipolar If you have a huge sum of money, and nothing to spend it on, why don't you help someone less fortunate than yourself?

  • Extremely interesting video. Thanks a lot for uploading. Eye opener. Consumerism is the biggest problem of the modern world.Sad that, americans who boast that they are the most advanced people in the world don't get this!!

  • If you have a huge sum of money, you have to spend it eventually.

Even if it's two years later.

I know some people are so big on buying only what they need that if they have an extra $100 they'll spend it on nothing but toilet-paper. Or they'll spend it on nothing but tooth paste.

Like the people on the Extreme Couponing show.

  • @ChronoVassal

I'll add to that. Living cooperatively to a unified end while respecting the rights of eachother as individuals and people = progress. Living selfishly without community is not progress, living as a mass of participants existing purely for some arbitrary process is not progress.

We have to find the right balance. If you let things be powered too much by the group then individuals with unique ideas cannot flourish and drive humanity forward.

  • Thank you for sharing the video, Sir. :)

  • "In the 60s the hippy movement rebelled against rampant capitalism". Hahahahahahahahahahaha. This generation would be the most greedy, wealthy, selfish generation of all.

  • we should start charging people for disposable of rubbish like we do with businesses if they want to get rid of something they will pay for it.

  • @HelenaXVI Money has never made man happy, nor will it, there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has the more one wants.
