  • @TheSweetPerry that's right, the majority of obesity is chronic malnutrition. Hence constant hunger and over eating because the person never gets the full range of nutrients that they need.

  • It is a very deep and interesting view of a human nature . I want to know more of how the mind works . Good thing to know .

  • Is this when we snap our fingers?

This will be the year 2012, unemployment is high and VISA doesn't care.

Marketing giants screwed the world as well as MacDonalds and Coke. They are not a food group.

  • @Rogadoable this video does not really explain how the pyramid really works. one can only self actualize once if ALL of the other needs are met. If one doesnt have the primary bottom needs met they can not even think about possibly trying to meet any of the others. most people in the world are nowhere near self actualizing, and this is what causes mental illness and depression.

  • These labels for supposed disorders are nothing more then people's need to give something a name to identify them. LIFE causes these emotional responces not a chemical imbalance, big pharma and doctors everywhere are protfiting majorly from this FRAUD!!

  • This is one of the lamest videos I've ever seen

  • Sorry, your Esteem Needs section about a constant yo-yo'ing of bad/good feelings when a certain person, say, parental figures who are invalidative and belittling of you, are around and then not...you're saying that that can constitute as a Bipolar disorder for you? It's not just a toxic relationship - it will straight up cause you to come up with this disorder?

Sorry, I've replayed that part several times now trying to be sure that I've understood correctly.

  • Medication of the symptoms... we do it everytime we have a coffee for a pick-me-up. What about diagnosis by medication? (socially sanctioned biomedical experimentation). In a system that pathologises emotional variation with a view to labelling for the purposes of medication we would all fit into the scope of psychiatric treatment at some time in our lives! There are so many effective alternatives now that pills are back in the blunt instrument caveman era of medicine!

  • Great information. I've been passing on Maslow's model (which I learned in marketing class) and applying it to life management as a model for assisting others to get back to basics to underpin their overt success at life. To have sustainable success in any of the higher levels attention to our basic survival needs is essential. The details are individuality.

  • Thanks for the clarity. Losing my job, house, wife, and connection with my children, I was diagnosed as clinically depressed, given anti-depressants. I decided instead to embrace non-violent communication (NVC) a four step process of observation, feeling, need and request. Understanding the need I can choose to act creatively to get it met rather than tragically; as such NVC as a tool can help to locate ourselves on Maslow’s model and creatively respond.

  • @cardinalbob1

Ha, Good for you dude. As the number of men who choose skip the whole marriage thing increases, maybe women will start to get the message. Of course by then it's too late. For example I was on a dating website not too long ago and saw this 47 year old woman who wanted to have a family and a kid. Ha! What on earth could possess me to sign up for that fiasco! No way do I want to be putting a kid through collage when I'm 65!

Too late beatch! She made her bed, now she has to lie in it
