Would you like to help Rifqa ? ?
A trust fund for Rifqa and her cause has been set up by Global Revolution Church. All monies collected will go towards Rifqa, her legal defense, and her cause. Not one dime will be retained by Global Revolution Church and all funds will be administrated and disseminated by a third party. All funds donated are 100% tax deductible.
If you would like to financially contribute to Rifqa and her cause, you can do so in a couple ways.
1. By credit card or debit card on the GRC website. Make sure to designate in the comments section that the funds are for 'The Rifqa Bary Trust'.
2. By mail. Send check or money order (no cash please) to the church at P.O. Box 533961, Orlando, FL 32853. Be sure to designate the check for 'The Rifqa Bary Trust' on the memo line.
You could also arrange for your church, Bible study, local organizations, etc to take up a collection for Rifqa.
A 17-year-old Ohio girl who secretly converted from Islam to Christianity says she fled to Florida for fear of her life. Fathima Rifqa Bary, the teen runaway who goes by Rifqa, is in protective custody with Florida's Department of Children and Families.
Rifqa says her father threatened her life when he learned of her conversion to Christianity vowing to kill her in the long standing Islamic tradition of "honor killings."
A judge ruled in the teen's favor August 21 , allowing time to investigate her case. Although her family, who is from Sri Lanka, say they will allow her to practice her Christian faith unharmed, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating whether she is in danger if she returns home.
"I was threatened by my dad," Rifqa told media. "I had a laptop, and he took that laptop and waved it in the air and he was about to beat me with it, and he said, If you have this Jesus in your heart, you're dead to me. You're not my daughter.' And I refused to speak but he said, I will kill you. Tell me the truth.' So I knew that I had to get away."
Alan Kornman, with the Orlando chapter ACT for America, a group who says it opposes what they call authoritarian values of Islam fascism, says many fear the secular media isn't taking seriously the issues at play.
"It is almost like Rifqa is on trial," said Kornman. "The secular media has been very hostile towards her and irresponsible in its reporting."
John Stemberger, an Orlando attorney representing the teen, told Crosswalk.com, "There is a strong media bias against this case. Outlets like CNN are choosing to completely ignore the case, while others are covering the story as if Rifqa was wrong for following her Christian convictions."
Rifqa's claim certainly has a basis in current events. The U.N. Population Fund estimates that there are as many as 5,000 honor killings worldwide every year.
But the Barys' actions lend some credibility to Rifqa's claims. Her father reportedly dissolved his jewelry business on July 29 after he discovered her faith, making conservative pundits like Pamela Geller speculate that the family was preparing to return to Sri Lanka.

I never said anything about the happiness of an athiest, I'm sure you can be happy. I find you disrespectful, did I call you stupid for your beliefs. What are you recruiting athiests? Hope is tangible, without it what happens to people of any belief system? Depression, suicide, etc..Religion is based on hope and faith. I feel God like I feel the wind. Your more confrontational than I am, "live and let live" is how I am. I know the argument for athism, it just doesnt work for me.
zeeab, There is solid proof of wind: you can measure it, feel it and see its effects. You do have free speach but when someone says something stupid they should be called on it. Just like when someone says they think Elvis is still alive we should laugh at them.
Hope? To say that a religious person is happier than an atheist is no more convincing than to say that a drunk person is happier than a sober person.

its so sad two people living with distorted perceptions of reality causing pain to both of them. Do any of you believers realy think your god is as petty and imature as the sntiments expressed for him/her/it in this video. the universe is rather big for its creator to worry about denominations of creatures that in relation barly register as matter at all.
Listen, faith and hope is something not always visible. There is no solid proof of many things in life, yet we know its true. The wind blows, but we cant see it, only the object it is moving. Sometimes you have to take a chance and believe in something bigger than yourself. I choose to believe what is written in our holy books. No, we dont have to shut up, freedom of speech remember? What is it your really afraid of?
zeeab, I can't disprove a creator. If if someone makes the claim that there god is the creator then they must back up that claim with facts or shut the f#ck up. Besides, the bible is a turd compared to the glory of the universe, thus, they cannot have the same maker.
Now your sounding like a freaking militant. You can never disprove God. Yes speak all you want and debate all you want, but respect others choices, like I respect yours. Michael Jackson is Alive, hahahahahaha
zeeab, yes, freedom of speech is a good thing. But if someone claims that god exits their belief should be challenged. If they still claim god after their belief is debunked they should be treated worst the people that still believe Elvis is alive.
