Indus's adaptation of a traditional Persian piece from the Sufi mystical tradition. This piece was originally composed for the Iranian santoor and is based in Deepchandi (a 14-beat rhythm cycle).

Indus brings together four instrumentalists from the North of England with roots in diverse musical genres, including Indian, Western & Jazz. Drawn together by a shared desire to create new approaches to music-making & to explore the full potential of their instruments, Indus skilfully navigate through uncharted & ever-changing musical terrain. The result is a unique sound that is a new musical language unto itself one that reflects the group's integrity, sensitivity and aspirational vision.

Indus is Henrik Linnemann (Flute), Shahbaz Hussain (Tabla), John Ball (Santoor) & Mohamed Assani (Sitar).

This performance launched the group's year-long national tour of England, supported by the Arts Council England. For more information, please visit www.indusmusic.co.uk.
