Julie Abbott -Storyboarder
Doug Dinero -Web guru
Jorrie Bedogne -Director
Valerie Ciesicki -Digital Editor

Year: 2001

With amusing moments inspired by Mission Impossible, this student-made documentary examines the controversial topic of anti-aging curatives and immortality. The students interview various experts in the controversy and develop their final thesis. Their team The Methuselah 5 explains: "Pamela Weintraub has written an article, 'Finding the Fountain of Youth.' It claims that immortality will eventually be possible via the use of advanced antioxidants. The truth must be uncovered. A group of agents known as the "Methuselah Five" have devoted their time to finding the answer. Together, they hope to prove that immortality is not a possibility."

Experts Interviewed: Dr. Michael Fossel, Aging expert, Dr. Patricia Ganey, MSU Toxicologist, Mr. John Snyder Owner, Foods for Living, Travis, personal trainer, and The Schertzing family.

This film was created as part of a senior thesis research project in a course at Michigan State University. Learn more here: http://www.msu.edu/course/lbs/492/luckie

  • gre acting..A home made video like this? A Master peice!!

  • This video misrepresents the article, which was a nuanced report based on research published in the world's top peer-reviewed journals, conducted by the world class scientists at the Buck Institute. The article did NOT say that antioxidants available today would confer immortality --but RATHER, that in the future, diminishing oxidative stress would extend lifespan. This video gets a failing grade for twisting the facts, and for not showing interviewees the text of the story in question.
