would it be ok if i plug a 24w and a 18w mat?
i only want to control the 24w temp since it is the undertank mat
since i would put the 18w on the side walls

@Livefoodsbypost Hey dude. I have the temperature one that is supposed to flick on and off. Recently it's decided it doesn't want to turn off no matter the temp. I have to keep it on and off manually which is not ideal. any idea why this might be or is it broken?

Could you use say, 5 times 20 watt heat mats with one 100 watt thermostat? With an extension cord.

@mutantflamerobotics yes, we have used multiple heat mats on a thermostat using extensions, as long as the wattage isnt exceeded. you need to remember it will only control the temperature for all of them though so they will all be switching on and off at the same time.

@Livefoodsbypost Thanks! So I could have 15 times 20 watt heat mats with a 300 watt thermostat with little or no risk of overheating or shorting?

@mutantflamerobotics In theory yes, it may be a bit impractical trying to maintain steady temps over 15 heat mats on one thermostat though, plus you will have the added risk of having to daisy chain a load of extensions to plug them all into the thermostat, however one extension plugged into a thermostat with an even load of mats shouldnt cause you a problem.

if you have the prope near the heat mat, won't the heat lamp interfear with the temperature? as when the heat mat goes off, the heat lamp will still be giving out heat and making the temp 30 so the heat mat wont turn back on.

@reeymysterio If you had it set up that way then probably yes, But if you are using a heat lamp in the hot end and its making the surface temperatures 30.c then you wouldnt need to use a heat mat anyway, you would be better off removing the heat mat and mat stat and just using a thermostat on the heat lamp. Unless the heat mats for night time heat when the lamp gets switched off, in which case the same still applies.
