"I AM: Trans People Speak" Preview

http://community.transpeoplespeak.org/ - I AM: Trans People Speak is a project created by the Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition (MTPC) and sponsored by GLAAD to raise awareness about the diversity of transgender communities. It will lift the voices of transgender individuals, as well as their families, friends, and allies.

Transgender people have a wide range of interests, experiences and backgrounds that are too often ignored because of their trans identity. Together we can make a positive change in the visibility and representation of transgender people by focusing on the full individual.

This is awesome, just one thing: Transgender and transsexual are not the same thing! I'd be willing to bet 10 bucks that these people are all transsexuals---what about all the other kinds of transgender people that exist? Gender fluid people, gender neutral people, androgynes, third gender people... the list goes on. Not all transgender people identify as male or female; "transgender" is an umbrella term for all forms of unusual gender identity or expression, not just cross-identification. :)
