Spring 2010 I started my most toughest project. I have been using and abusing my little Kubota skidding logs, and pulling trailer loads of dirt. Problem was, I needed the Kubota to both load and pull the trailer due to the rough terrain. Solution, buy a tracked dumper. Cheapest one I found was a old rice harvester but with a 48" track length the packaging becomes difficult. At about $4000, I would still have to build a bed and blade and it would only seat 1.

The solution, build my own! Look for next progress report late June 2010.

  • @GatheringSticks The pump is rated at 10 GPM at 2500 PSI at 1000 RPM. Max speed 3,000 RPM. I will be connecting via double belt pully, geared down 2-1 so max RPM I will run is 1650 on the pump (3300rpm on the engine). Not sure what it will pump at that speed. Maybe 15 gpm?

  • wow....this is real cool project. What displacement is your hydraulic pump?

Are you going with joystick controls?
