Queen - My Fairy King (Jim Warren's Art)

This is my first video, ENJOY! I hope you like it! This song was written by Freddie Mercury, my favourite singer, for the album "Queen" (1973) and I think that it 's in tune with the atmosphere of Jim Warren's art. "My Fairy King"deals with Rhye, a fantasy world created by vocalist Freddie Mercury and featured in other Queen songs, most notably "Seven Seas of Rhye". Before writing this song Mercury was known as Freddie Bulsara, and this song is said to have inspired him to change his surname. Its lyrics contain a verse with the words "Mother Mercury, look what they've done to me." Brian May has said that after the line was written, Freddie claimed he was singing about his mother. Subsequently, Freddie Bulsara took the stage name Freddie Mercury.

Hello my friend Delilah, I was reading your description, somewhere that I just can't pin point now I read that Freddie wrote this song because he would pretend that his and his sister's playfield was a Sea of Rhye. I read as much as I can about Freddie and Queen and their lives and I never get enough. I wish I had more space to insert a piece of this song and give you my interpretation. I know, I'll post another comment!

The land of Rhye was originally made up by Mercury and his sister Kashmira when they were children. And thank you for your interpretation!

@yankovan Beh, cantare come Freddie è certamente impossibile... ^__^ E poi questa canzone in particolare non è certo facile!!! Comunque credo che una cover possa sempre essere anche un esperimento, se è realizzata per omaggiare un artista che si ama o si ammira non penso possa essere definita un vero oltraggio... Un omaggio semmai, ma capisco... Anche se può pure non essere all'altezza dell'originale, è bello provarci per chi vuole, anche se è arduo, soprattutto nel caso di canzoni dei Queen! =)

E' un gran pezzo a cui sono molto affezionato, Queen e Queen II sono certamente due capolavori. Complimenti per l'accostamento con l'arte di Jim Warren che hai fatto in questo bel video :-)
