Here's a recording by the Jean Goldkette Orchestra (see my notes to the Casa Loma "Grey Bonnet" posting) from 1927.
The line-up includes many musicians who went on to make considerable names for themselves later, such as the Dorsey brothers, Joe Venuti & Eddie Lang, Bix Beiderbeck, Frankie Trumbaur and many others.
An orchestra that "set the style" for much that followed in the 'swing' era.

I didn't know this take before. In the take I know the band sounds even hotter and the solos better worked out, but the source material is much more scratchy.
