You Can Make Video Games

This is a talk and demonstration I gave at AmeCon 2010 (a UK anime/manga/gaming convention) to encourage more people to make video games. I tried to break down misconceptions that might dissuade people from making games and offer some tips I've learned through experience. I also talk through the tools and resources you can use when starting out to make game development easier.

The downside with 3D games is that it takes huge amount of time and design to make it decent. People expect so much more of a 3D game. But expectation can be changed if someone put a will to it. For me as a comparable example Going from watching the latest starwars to the clone wars tv series takes a couple of episodes to make it exciting and stop caring about the more amateurish 3D but instead concentrate on the movie.

@replypdf Well like 2D I think it depends on the style you take. If you check out stuff like Radio Silence by Terry Cavanagh and especially The Clotted Island by Increpare they're good examples of keeping the 3D simple and still making really interesting little games.
