Africans seem to have a completely different sense of order from us in the west. I saw it in the children and, when in Kampala, it was exactly the same with the way adults drive. At a junction, where there are no traffic lights, it is absolute chaos as everyone just tries to be first across the junction with no concerns for the safety of themselves or others and it really is pandemonium. Well, the same would happen in class. When it was time for break, everyone - at the same time - would just push and shove until they got out. No concern for any of the smaller ones. So, this day, I was firm and demanded that those in all the other rows stay seated while the first row exited. Even although I had stressed this, many in the other rows still got up to move and I shouted firmly at them to sit back down.......and it worked and, as you'll see, we had a reasonably smooth and uneventful dismissal.
