This chronic inflammatory gastrointestinal condition can have a devastating impact on a person’s life. While there is no cure for Crohn’s disease, it is manageable with the right treatment options.
It's different for everyone.I tried Humara and my body didn't take to it well after my second dose/injection.Remicade infusions did work for me for awhile but my body became immune to it ..
and eat more chicken. white meat instead of dark meat. you can drink milk but cereals everyday is bad. and thats what causes flare ups. i can eat spicy foods on day... but the second day i better watch it. my medication controls my symptoms so im okay for awhile. you will hear of people who have extreme pain bc of their crohns and its because they didnt know of what to do and not to do. oh and btw... no alcohol. and you shouldnt be smoking.... smoking is just bad anyways.
and rather than calling it an intestinal disease and leaving it at that it is a disease that makes certain foods upset your stomach. simple as that. that is what the flare ups are. stay away from spicy foods, fatty foods, dairy to an extent, yeast and starches, and red meats. yes when i was diagnosed i was like what, no cereals, no milk, no meat? no bread? thats the 3 of the four food groups... how can this be possible. its simple really... just avoid them. salad instead of fries.
okay... well as a patient with crohns disease you can not have crohns disease worse than someone else depending on when you are diagnosed with it. if you have it you have it. with that said it can affect you more only because your living conditions affect the way your crohns disease works. i take homeopathic medication meant to reverse the disease. meaning it will go away.
@baronblunt : Grow up and wise up. That's pretty immature, it's an intestinal problem and everyone has intestines. Although, I somewhat agree because I know that it's a stinky problem but everyone shits and has diarrhea at some point? right? It's more of an embarrassing and disabling illness than anything.
And my mom has had chrohn's since she was 17. It is a really hard disease to live with and she is limited in a lot of ways. It's really painful and has many complications.
um my sisters were both diagnosed. I was 7 when I was diagnosed. My sisters were 4 and 18 months. So 12dpine, DONT COMPLAIN BECAUSE WE HAVE IT WORSE THAN YOU!
@AlbertaKronik my friend just takes oxycontin... 80mg a day but hes sleeping most of the day. SSI ftw is the only way he can do it.
