In this video mash-up, you will see Howard Dean on Countdown interview Rep. Chris Van Hollen about the House's efforts to keep the public health care option alive, Barack Obama tell an audience about a letter of contradiction, Howard Dean with health care lobbyist whistle-blower Wendell Potter, Rachel Maddow with Sen. Bernie Sanders discussing the new right wing-nut conspiracy theory that liberals want to kill old people, Howard Dean with author Phillip Longman about the government run VA health care system (Rand study says the "best"), and finally John Stewart getting uber neo-con Bill Kristol to admit that the government does run the best health care system which is for the US military.

  • Japan has the best health care in the world, and is PUBLIC.

    Americans are in 37th place because they are complete idiots.

  • This is great!! Go to 8:30

    Go John Stewart Go

    See how John Stewart does what no other commentator can do. Se how the Neocon, Bill Kristol begrudgingly admits that a single payer health care system really does work. This shows how the both political parties are owned by the medical industries.

  • Making a profit out of ill health is absolutely immoral and demonstrating on the street to defend it is utter lunacy. Where on earth are you going America (or perhaps just off planet actually)?

  • Their basing their arguments on some guy writing balogny. You don't get what the heck the guy is writing. That Communism stuff is Fake.

  • A public option in 30 years becomes your ONLY option. Do you get that?? Do ya??

  • @Lucem2: I've also noticed that Japan does tend to be not only more socially liberal overall than the U.S., but places better emphasis on schooling as well. And the funny thing is, so do Sweden, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, etc.{is it any coindicence?}

  • When even a neo-con is forced to admit that the public option is a good idea..............you know it's something to try.

  • The GOP and the NEOCONS are angry against healthcare reform because they want to be SURE that there is plenty of money left for...WAR. Reagan dumped tens of thousands of disabled Vietnam Veterans OUT of hospitals to help pay for his FAILED weapons system known as Star Wars.

  • @Lucem2 America is in 37th place because the nation state system is run by plutocrats and fascists. The American public overwhelmingly supports universal healthcare.We don't have it because Republicans don't want it and Democrats are too spineless to stand up to republicans. That is why Obama bows and grovels before republicans and removed the public option from the healthcare bill. This despite the fact that they had a super-majority in both houses of congress.

  • 602!

  • Patmx1992..... oh my. It is your thinking that has kept America so far behind the rest of the developed world in terms of healthcare. " I work three jobs and be damned if I'm going to pay one red cent to help my neighbor when he gets sick." Where I live, overall, we pay much less per person for healthcare than Americans do. Also, the average person in British Columbia lives three years longer than that of our neighbors in Washington State.

    Happy and healthy in Canada, Mike.
