Here is a video taken in 2007 of a live DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) PDP-11/40 Computer system running a 1979 V7 version of the RSTS/E Operating System. An LA36 DecWriter II printing terminal is connected to this PDP-11/40 via an EIA (RS232) connection using the DZ11 M7819 multiplexer.

Watch the LA36 DecWriter run the SYSTAT program as it prints out the system status!

  • These printers were work horses. They were built like tanks.
