http://www.instituteforenergyresearch... / http://www.heritage.org | The recent boom of the Bakken oil fields—made possible by a perfect storm of sensible state regulations, hydraulic fracturing technology, and the fact that most drilling is taking place on private lands—has produced a whirlwind of economic growth in a formerly sleepy corner of northwest North Dakota. Recently, a team from The Heritage Foundation and the Institute for Energy Research (IER) traveled out West to see it for ourselves.

Special recognition and thanks to Brandon Stewart, the Heritage Foundation, for his instrumental role in directing and producing this film.

North Dakota is drilling and fracking its way to prosperity and having lived there, I can tell you they don't give a crap what the anti-capitalist, anti-American socialists think.

God Bless them and GOD BLESS the U.S.A.!!

After being unemployed for YEARS in our small town, my husband went back to school and upon graduation, got a job with Halliburton. I'm grateful for the company and the state of North Dakota for making his job possible!

North Dakota has one of the lowest crime rates in the country, there is no evidence (despite what the left tells you) that fracking causes polution. In fact, Obama's own environmental advisor came out in public and said that exact thing. I'm not sure where you get failing infrastructure from seeing as North Dakota is becoming one of the richest states with the lowest unemployment and richest people. There is no destruction of historical sites. Keep drinking Obama's koolaid

North Dakota = Almost 0 unemployment. Even the lowest ranking employees are getting rich.

Its funny that the soon to be old Williston mayor is talking about how great the boom is. He has done nothing but made it hard for us to move here. No food trucks = harder to find affordable fast food in town. No campers in city limits = less places to live. Hope a new mayor will be more welcoming to us.

I love the hit on government regulation at the end. Totally unnecessary seeing as Obama is in office and this boom is going on responsibly. Silly.

It really isn't worth it. It costs too much to live there and most of the people that work out there like to screw each other over. If you are not related to anybody than you don't fit in. My whole family on the mothers side runs things out there and I know the oil boom is not going to last. Politics. I mean look who they have for a senator now. But I am starting people out at $18.20/hr climbing commo towers and taking care of wireless commo tech. It is a huge learning experience.Fuck oil
