The Chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors - the organization overseeing U.S. media directed at foreign audiences - says his organization needs to fight its enemies. And among those are Iran's Press TV, China's CCTV and RT. Political commentator Peter Lavelle says the chairman's statement puts him beyond real journalism

The 1st Amendment defends the right to freedom of speech, and it is not a violation of this right for a news channels to distort the truth and tell lies to the American public!

In 2003 an Appellate Court of Florida’s Second District ruled for Fox News that their right to distort the truth was protected by the Constitution as the Federal Communications Commission’s policy against media distortion does not have the weight of the law to support it.

I was critical of RT initially because I read that it was very pro-Putin, but now that I have cable I've been watching RT a lot more and they actually do a great job as journalists. I'd rather watch four hours of RT than ten minutes of all the bickering on CNN and FOX
