Health Care for America Now (HCAN) the nations largest health care campaign launched a new television ad today detailing anti-reform front man Rick Scotts dubious past in the health care industry. The former CEO of Columbia/Hospital Corporation of America was forced to resign in 1997, and Columbia/HCA agreed to pay $1.7 billion in fines and penalties the largest fraud settlement in US history. The hospital corporation pleaded guilty to a litany of criminal and civil charges including lying to the government about how sick patients were so they could collect larger fees.
Now Scott is using his own personal fortune amassed during those years to attack President Obamas health care proposals with false claims and recycled scare tactics. Scott formed a group called Conservatives for Patients Rights and is advertising on national cable outlets like CNN and Fox. While some press have mentioned Scotts past in covering his new multimillion dollar ad push, too many continue to ignore the agenda behind the expenditure.

CPR-Rights is a lobbying group for 20 Health insurance companies. We would have to be really stupid to believe anything they say. Rick Scott, You Lie!!
Feds will negot lower rates with providers (can steer more people to providers). Young healthy ppl will go into gov plan keeping rates low ((lower utilization=lower rates;) "Sick" ppl will go into private plans (higher utilization=higher rates.) 3 healthy ppl needed to offset cost of 1 sick person! Priv ins will NOT be able to compete!!!!!Let's see if those in Congress who vote for it sign up for it (have 5 yrs to sign on!) USA survival rates (breast cncr, prostate cncr) are HIGHER than Euro.
For "Hunnaweens" and anyone else who opposes allowing all citizens the choice of a private plan---I have a suggestion for you: If you don't like the idea of a public health care plan, I suggest you don't enroll in it. Stay with your private, for-profit plan. No one will force you to do otherwise.
And I'm completely confident that if you get very sick or seriously injured, these companies will pay for all of your medical expenses, honor all claims, and never make you pay more than a couple of hundred bucks for the doctors, the treatments and the hospital stays. After all, the insurance companies are only in business to help premium payers like you. Just relax. You're "covered" by "insurance"...
It's not about private vs. public management of health care, it's about ACCOUNTABILITY and OVERSIGHT - as we should know after the last few years. As for me, I trust public servants rather than people in it for the money - if they're really public servants and not in it for the money (or fame)!
Rick Scott and the SRPR (Socialist Republic People Rights), my way of saying he's a fool and an idiot. Yes, HC is a problem and false hope, but I still say, if you all agree, it may take some time. I'm not against Obama's health care reform, I like his idea, but you know who's gonna stop him. Guess.
