being an x miners I toally agree with your views , but say the only thing I do miss is the comradeship instead of the back stabbing selfish people outside the mines

@blackcreekredneck Been hard rock mining in the UK since 1971.
Miners are a different breed of animal.
Don't forget: if you can't grow it you have to mine it.

er and now as a jumbo offsider and ill tell you the blokes you work with down there you trust with ure life and the job may not be paradise but really rewarding, a sense of achievement. your crew is ure family

as an x-miner i never thought i would see the day when Britain had no deep mines.. i just never seen it coming.. the only job i miss as all the rest of them have been shit, no comradeship, just people pissing up your back all the time.. miners are real people with real values,, you don't find anywhere else.

R*I*P Pike River Miners
One week ago today 29 of my countrymen perished down the shaft at Pike River Mine, West Coast, South Island New Zealand.
They are still down there, the mines burning and we can't get them out yet...but we will.
I know every miner, from every country, past and present, stand shoulder to shoulder with our boys. Your brother ship is as true and hard as the coal you hew.
Be at peace Pike River 29..forever working the last shift.
