PLEASE NOTE: Some programs, like game maker, may have already been updated since i posted this. Game Maker 8 is now available and pro is now 25 US dollars.

Okay, I been having some frustrations with this annoying annotations, but you don't have to worry I posted all the links shown in the video.
I would have been talking, except I am not a good speaker. There will be annotations. You can also find links to sites shown in the video. The video shows free software you can use to make your own video game. The basic tools you need are a sound editor for music and sound effects, image editor for background images, textures and etc, and the game dev tool. The tools used here requires no knowledge of coding to make a basic game. I am showing you tools that I've used and I find are the best ones I've used so far to make games without coding. Of course, people have their own opinions, but like I said I am only sharing ones I have experience with.

Game Makers:
The first software is game maker which you can get at:
http://www.yoyogames.com

The second software is construct which you can get at:
http://www.scirra.com/

Third software is blender, which you can get at:
http://www.blender.org

The first two can make 2D games and apps, and a registered version of game maker can make 3D and online games. Third, blender, is a full 3D animation and modelling suite that includes a game engine.
None of them requires coding to use, but if you get more experience with them and want to make more advanced game, you can learn to use coding. Game maker has its own built in language called GML. If you know coding like C++ and making dlls, you can use them to extend the game maker games you make. Blender uses python scripting and has its own built-in text editor which you can use to write the scripts.

In addition to building games, you'll need to make sounds and images for textures, backgrounds and so on.

GIMP is a free alternative to photoshop. You can get it at:
http://www.gimp.org

Inkscape is a free vector program, similar to illustrator. You can get it at:
http://www.inkscape.org

You can get a free sound editor at:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You can get a free software to compose music right on your computer at:
http://lmms.sourceforge.net/

For free sounds for sound effect and background noise, you can visit:
http://www.flashkit.com

Here are other useful sites:
http://www.Blendernation.com - news for blender and has tutorials to help you get used to blender, also has links to free resources like textures and 3D models.

http://www.blenderartists.org - has a great community for getting help with blender

http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Tutorials/Game_Engine/BSoD - is a great tutorial for those not experienced with blender or 3D that wants to dive straight in into game developing with blender.

http://www.scirra.com/phpBB3/ - forum for construct

http://forums.yoyogames.com/ - forum for game maker
