My son resently got out of ECMO treatment successfuly. Unfortunately he suffered sever brain damage, now he is not reachable at all. In the end I wish he didn't survived ECMO.
ECMO saved my daughter Riley also. She had PPHN and was on ECMO for 5 days then off for 2 and went back downhill so rapidly she was put back on ECMO for another 10 days. She still survived, check out her video. She is 61 days old now and still in the NICU, but coming home this week. ECMO is a LIFESAVER.
Our daughter was on ECMO for 11 day starting on day 14 of life. Seeing this story brought tears to my eyes. Our daughter was born at 36 weeks with PPHN as well. She was so sick she too almost died, more than once. She too had another complication, a huge chylothorax. Over two cups of chyle fluid were drained from her thorax area. Once they found the chylo she progressed quickly but was still hospitalized for a little over 4 months. I think you did a great job with your story.
im glad she is doing so well

Wonderful story. Was Lucy treated at CHOA Eggleston Hospital or CHOA Scottish Rite Hospital?
