This is just a rough pass on my brand new Fender Custom Shop NOS Nocaster. By brand new, I mean the protective plastic is still on the neck pickup. I am aware that my playing isn't a perfect match to the original recording as my chord changes are a little off. This just for fun to show off a GREAT new guitar. She's only 6.85lbs and has the most amazing "open" sound I've ever heard out of a Tele.

  • Great playing. How do you like your Nocaster? I'm shopping for an electric!

  • I really enjoy the guitar. Yes, you could probably assemble something very similar from Musikraft or the like, but it still wouldn't be the same. It has a low output pickups, a gigantic neck, no tone control, and somehow you still think "wow" every time you pick it up.

  • Are all of the necks on the nocastr huge?

  • Yes, they are MONSTER huge. However, I really enjoy the size now.

  • i meant picking, or course

  • Never thought about it the other way until you mentioned it, lol.

  • haha, great playing im well jelouse dude!!

Can afford a nocaster but my baja does me pretty well, got to be the best value fender guitar of them all!!

  • Nice playing. My custom shop relic Nocaster sounds more closed than yours and not as bright, but I still love it.

  • The wiring was different as well. There was no tone control on them. Instead you had a "blend" control which allowed you to blend the sound of the neck pickup with the bridge pickup when in the rear position.

  • thanks

  • ok... originally the telecaster was called a broadcaster, but gretsch sued because they were already using that name, so fender had to change while they were coming up with something they produced 'nocasters'. they were called that because the headstock only said fender and nothing else. also the pickups on nocasters are pretty hot

  • Farout!!!

  • ok...i'm going to sound like a little kid when i say cuz i'm new to guitars, but what is the difference between a telecaster and a nocaster? a reply would be cool. thanks.
