To mark International Day of Older Persons 7/10/11. Hattie was 76 when this film was made for the Department of Social Security in 1974. Alert and interested in the world she finds the common community activities on offer for the elderly hold no appeal for her. She talks about her feelings of loneliness in a society in which she no longer seems to have a place yet she feels that society has a lot to benefit from older people's experiences. Made by Film Australia 1974. Directed by Debby Kingsland. Producer: Suzanne Baker. Cinematographer Dean Semler.

We all need to think about our elders, to respect them.
