I have been trying to quit smoking with the NHS over the last 15 years without success.

@david0861513636 I suppose everything to you looks like a scam. Give the poor guy a break, he is not a NHS stop smoking counsellor or a GP who knows what all of these things are, so if he has got something wrong then he should be forgiven for being human and not a machine. He is brave enough to share his own story of the pathetic success rate achieved with these posions. Most advertising brochures and stop smoking advertising is paid for by the drug companies because they have the most to gain.

@savashdj The most successful method of quitting smoking is cold turkey but the NHS tells you otherwise. They tell you that you have a better chance of quitting using their posions such as NRT. In fact they make your life hell and very few people quit using these methods. Also, the iteration rate is awful - a lot of NHS stop smoking clinics admit that half the people can't even stay quit for two weeks. If we had such an awful success rate we would have gone bankrupt years ago and rightly so.

The biggest scam ever invented is how our beloved NHS has been hijacked by mindless morons who buy into all the bull perpetrated by the drug companies and continue to ignore self-evident-truth. There are so many people scamming the NHS from your average GP, to the smoking cessation counselor to the pharmacists. If we had a fair playing field then all NHS addiction clinics would be closed within a year and there would be queues a mile long outside all the alternative and complimentary clinics.

Agree'd the government have a deal with the pharmacy companies so they encourage people to use their products. I dont want to give up smoking i genuinly enjoy it. Life is too short to worry about thigns like not smoking because you end up spending more time in a depression because your struggling to quit then smoking would take off your life anyways. Anti smoking campaigns cost millions out of tax payers money!

@daveravegin I am amazed how people can justify poisoning their bodes with addictive substances and then come up with excuses as to why they smoke. There will come a time when you will no longer enjoy smoking, you will be smoking out of habit. Once that time comes ,it will be very easy for you to quit smoking. Meanwhile continue to enjoy life's little vices like smoking the evil weed.
