so sad story......i remember the same ship Lisco Optima one year ago i see it in Klaipeda port...white ...big so beautyfull....they(ships) are sisters ship....
To be honest, it's not sunk. I hope the engines and other underwater parts aren't damaged. I'm sure they aren't going to rebuild the whole ship, but if the engines etc. are ok, they maybe will. Like Sally Albatross.
@Korppi513 i know that Gloria not sunk, just yesterday we dont know about ship situation....but i think that ship is damage so more, that company will no rebult, ship was burn 2 days...i just cant understand how dont explose petrol of ship!?
@Heke1959 ships don't use petrol, they use diesel fuel, which does not explode, just burn. Considering that the fire started in upper decks and fuel tanks are down below, the temperature must have not risen enough to ignite ship's fuel.
Actually ships doesn't use either petrol or even diesel fuel. They use residual fuel oil, which needs high pressure and high temperature to catch fire. Just upper parts of the ship is mainly burnt, underwater decks is just full of water, but otherwise it should be ok. Even the bridge isn't completely burnt. It's such a new vessel, if they doesn't repair it, they at least use underwater parts to build a new one.
@Korppi513 maybe posible to use some part of ship for another ships.... who knows......its incident are the bigest after 1990 Lithuanian independete time ship disaster....
