  • Wow Halekauwila amazing song and great quality!! Memories of socials (remember those?) Can you tell me the name of the cd so I can search for it?

    Mahalos!

  • @Myst43 Yes, we got the CD at Jelly's (think at the end of in the "Memory Lane" section). It's called Long Lost Oldies (Vol. 3). Interesting mix of hit songs with several local hits mixed in. The CD also has the Copper Nickel songs on it as well. Take care.

  • What I meant to say was Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo. Memories of High School.

  • howzit chazzr50: glad you remember this one! my brother says diamond head was a group from england and that this song was only a hit in hawaii. found it on a 70s nostalgia cd at jellies that had other local hits on it. great song.

  • Mahalo for this song. One of my favorite jammin-on-the-beach-with-the-boys song. Been looking for this song for a while. Excellent quality.

  • I always believed the version by Skylark on Capitol Records (1973) was the original. After reading the comments, it appears I may be wrong. The Capitol label credits ABC/Dunhill as the publisher, which leads me to believe that Skylark's was the cover. Anyway, both versions are great. Diamond Head's is nu2me - love it!!! You can check out Skylark's version on my channel. It's the only one available on YouTube. Thanx 4 posting this classic gem!

  • @HawaiianFunk: correct! Ray Hosino died in the 70's; Bob Cabral (Roosevelt '62?) was the horn man. Dunhill also released this song covered by the Canadian band, Skylark. Right on: Point After at the Hawaiian Regency!

  • Mahalo for posting this rare classic! If you want it "LIVE", RKSB (Royal Kunia St. Band) does a nice job on it at Ige's, about every other month.

  • Weren't these guys locals from Hawaii? (not from England) I think their lead singer was a guy named Ray and was their bass player. I could be wrong, but I thought he died in a car accident back in the70s. I also believe that another guy, last name Cabral, was in DH and also later played with the Aliis. Then again, I could be wrong, it was a long time ago

  • Been lookin 4 this song, thanx 4 posting it!!!!!! : D
