The sitting practice like the standing side to side helps one develop a deeper understanding of the kua or inguinal crease area. This is just one of the Wujifa sitting practices. Certain people find the sitting practice easier to notice subtle details because they can get a little distracted by the heavy feeling in the legs when doing really good standing side to side. Remember both the sitting and standing practices are good because both have their own limitations and hence engage ones understanding in different ways.
