Reykjavik Airshow 2008

held at Reykjavik Airport Iceland 24. may 2008. There was a rally between Ford GTI and Monster Pitts. Flybys by Fokker 27 and 50, Dash 8, B757, Super Puma helicopters of the coastguard, DC-3 and several light aircraft. I came a little late so I missed a few but this is what I got on film. The music is the Icelandic song from the eurovision contest. This is my life (Kareoki version)

Great video. I lived in Iceland for two years, love the country and the people. Watching planes take off and land in those extreme Icelandic winds is one of the reasons I decided to get my pilots licence. Icelandic pilots rock!!! Ingibjörg hélt að allir yrðu heyrnarlausir útaf hávaðanum örugglega. En það versta er að þær fljúga mikið í FRakklandi og þar eru allir með heyrnina í lagi.

My Icelandic is a little rusty, but what does the text say... Something along the lines that the French were to do a demo there... and were forbidden from doing so.

If so that sucks because that would explain why they didn't come to the Quebec Air Show for the 400th anniversary of Quebec City as it was originally planned.
