  • beaded prince nymph or anything black in the 14- 20 hook. thanks for subscribing

  • any pike or bass in the river from the lake.

  • There are more bass and pike towards the inlet of the lake. Where I am fishing is above an impassable waterfall for pike or bass.

  • im thinking of camping on the schroon river. off rt 11. have you done it?

  • I live near the Schroon and have fished it only for day trips, but know there are campsites both public and private along the river. What area of the river are you going to?

  • I know this exact location. Its a good spot, but it has easy access for everyone else, thats why I dont fish it much> I,ve snorkled this hole and the one below it. You,d be amazed what is in there, but these fish see every lure know to man. There,s a hole upstream about 1/2 mile

. If you know the area, then you'll know where Im talking about. Drive North and you'll come to a open field that is visable through the trees, park by the gate and walk to the river. Its worth it.

  • @dtklepetar ive stocked trout in my pond for years and have had nothing but success for holdovers each season after being caught multiple times barbless or not, wet hands or not. How a fish is handled is very important and I do things as I was taught. Your comment seems to be trendy, certainly with the barbless hooks and all. Please enjoy the videos without thinking i am looking for guidance. Warm regards and hope to stay as far away from you on the stream!

  • Rimofmoon, I grew up fly fishing the Schroon and live on its banks. If were serious about keeping these beautiful trout around then we need to respect these fish. 65% of released fish dont survive because they are handled with dry hands or removed from water for too long. Please try to keep fish in the water when dismantling the hook. I switched to barbless hooks to cut down on release time as well. Warm regards and see you on the stream!

  • Thanks for the post. I have been tying flies for the Schroon and Ausable and can't wait to get up there. I sure love fishing the Schroon as much as the streams I grew up fishing in NW Connecticut. Have a good one!

  • thanks.love the video, you should put more. One more question any flies or lures that you'de reccomend.
