@everettpf3 You are incorrect. In Washington state, the HOV lane is NOT a passing lane. It isn't reserved for emergency vehicles, but of course you should move to the right for sirens and lights as you would in any other lane.
You can see this exception in RCW 46.64.100 (3) "This subsection does not apply to a vehicle using a high occupancy vehicle lane. A high occupancy vehicle lane is not considered the left-hand lane of a roadway."
Keeping with the ebb and flow of traffic is the idea behind pulling over those control freaks who like to camp in the left lane to teach a lesson or two to us terrible people who want to pass you, Now the law is on the side of the reasonable drivers who do NOT cause the traffic jams on our highways like you all tend to. Grow up and get a life you left lane camper losers.
I am sick of FAST LANE CULTURE, nearly ramming me, in their attempt at breaking the law! All lanes should be open to posted 60 mph, or 70 mph drivers.
You must conclude all "Good to Know" with an obey posted speed limits, and highlight this tone: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FAST LANE
I got so sick of people cruising in the passing lane I wrote a song about it. Then I spent a year building a very unique contest around the humorous lyrics. I consider the song a public service announcement. I hope I can get the word out to enough people that the contest takes off (so the song will be heard by a lot of people). The contest is called the MusicTrackMeet.
WSP removed my first comment; apparently they can't take criticism. So I will say again, this law is tawdry nonsense. It serves only to increase congestion in the remaining lanes, making road travel more hazardous. One has to wonder, however, if there is more than just a strong correlation between enforcing this law and dwindling state revenues.
@mozleron However this also applies to the HOV lane. If you aren't going faster than the general flow of traffic you should not be in the HOV lane. Leave it open for emergency vehicles.
is this snoqualmie pass? lol
