  • I want to go to the VIBRANT social club. Its the place to be.

  • @deliow Sadly you can't as it closed years ago...it was s**t anyhow, as I think you guessed!

  • Great videos Pete - I was hoping you could possibly answer a question.

I noticed in Part 1 double deckers had exit doors on their buses - is there a reason this is no more the case?

  • @fkfj16 I gather that B & H buses had problems in the 80s with passengers being unsighted when exiting from these doors and subsequently being injured as the bus moved off with them still partway in/out. The buses were modified to not take power until all doors were closed but from then on all new B & H buses were ordered with only one entrance/exit door.

  • Blimey.. the only bus in this video that's still in the B&H fleet is the Bristol K.... I'm gettin old! :-(

  • Bus driving use to be a good job. It's shite now, especially with all these concessionary passes about. Promotional opportunities? I don't think so. You start as a bus driver and stay as one forever. Happy working environment? No way. Some bus drivers are immature and purile. Overtime? Maybe, but no overtime rate or even a thankyou from the management. Job enjoyable? Not so as 12-13hr days are the norm.

  • @fkfj16 Many operators will avoid buses with middle doors, mainly because in the past, many passengers have been injured when alighting from the middle doors. I think London Transport are the only major user of buses with entrance/exit doors. Many of the other large operators such as First etc will avoid buses with middle doors. BTW, they don't make buses like they use to.

  • Whoever the commentator is ..he sounds like the Gestapo.. "We vil maik ze pass the test or u vill get shotted".. No sorry mate. I drove the K types and the Lodekkas when it was real buses one was driving..not tin cans. No ! This commentator would turn any off anyone from driving buses.. what a load of BS.
