The main reason why I cycle through winter in Toronto is that the city's aging public transit system, the TTC, is, most of the time, slow and totally overcrowded. Cycling is a good way to get some daily exercise, and quite easy even in winter, except for the few coldest (-20 C) and snowiest days.

  • @dioclescissoid i agree other then the wind we the bikers have to deal with...but the walkers dont have to .. eather way just love to bike rain shine and in death i will ride

  • I likey

  • Super! I always wonder why pedestrians are surprised when they see a cyclist in winter when they are themselves out in the cold. With proper clothes its nearly the same.

  • My commute this winter was 8 miles (~11km) and this winter I rode the whole way in temps down to -10f (-23c) . WIth a weather proofed Euro bike and good outdoor clothes it was very rewarding and pleasent.. In the extrem winter riding it would take an hour somedays, but not much slower than a car... The only issue are ths STUPID Minneapolis motorist that do not follow laws, but they get fatter and stupider and me... I love the way women look at my legs!
