A lot of people are having trouble with this:
1.) Fully upgrade any weapon and beat the game once.
2.) Go to Bonus Features and purchase infinite ammo.
3.) Go to special settings and go to "Infinite Ammo" and make it say "yes" to turn it on.
4.) When you play say "Yes" to infinite ammo.
If you want to get more exchange points to get Infinite Ammo just play Mercenaries Mode or keep doing Story Mode on Veteran or Professional.

This has happened to me and Ive tried that ive bought it I turned it on and nothing worked oddly enough my older brother BROKE INTO MY HOUSE and stole all my ps3 games I eventually got RE5 replaced as the 360 version for 20 dollars no im not kidding 20 dollers and the infinite ammo worked I dont know what the problem is but if you want it that bad buy the 360 version...

fuck ... i defeated the game with some Amateur and Normal difficulties ... but i cant buy unlimited ammo though ... do i have to finish chapters on 1 difficulties or anything ?

You can fully upgrade it whenever, you just need to beat the game first though.

Unlimited Ammo
Once you have maxed out the upgrades for a particular gun you will have unlimited ammunition for it.

To unlock unlimited ammunition for a weapon, fully upgrade all of its attributes, complete the game (all chapters) and buy the ability using Exchange Points from Bonus Features (for that weapon only).
