This is incredible, I was actually on this flight. I recall the flight taking a little longer than usual and landing on runway 25L with emergency vehicles meeting our plane after touching down.

Have I understood this correctly? Visibility must've been very poor if they needed vectors right down to the approach minimums, so they are relying on the controller for terrain avoidance. If I've got that right then wow, that's some trust exercise.
