Taken on Friday, June 4, 2010 I went to The CP Rail Area H Industrial Spur near Kipling GO station with Eric (yurysausage) to film a train. This train was coming off The CP Galt Subdivision and making its way to The Area H Industrial Spur to switch some industries along the spur. In this video you will see a CP Rail GMD GP9u with a StL&H GMD GP9u doing some switching along the spur. As the train stops close to the derail on the spur, the crew member gets off the engine and removes the derail from the line so the train can proceed down the spur. When the train reaches the crossing closer to us, the crew member then sets the switch for the straight route on the spur so the train can run around and push the cars inward to its customer. This train later got out off the spur with the crew in the StL&H GMD GP9u so it can proceed back to either Toronto Yard, or The CP Rail Canpa Subdivision for a dropoff. Enjoy! :D

  • If this is Canadians, there pushing there luck. These old industrial spurs can only handle so much. I'm a CSX Florida rail fan and (KY) but when I see these tiny rais and grown up grass between the rails I get excited. Excellent video. Keep them coming.

  • @wagmancan 1. You're not your 2. I love it when railfans capture me working.

  • @wagmancan You are on youtube watching this video...does that make YOU a champ?? You obviously lead an awfully exciting life yourself, Sally...

  • where does the Canpa sub start and finish??

  • great video, interesting to see this often neglected aspect of railroading caught on film. Its disappointing to see the tall weeds in the first part of the video. these are a definite safety hazard to the crews, a common indication that CPR is more concerned with talking about safety than actually addressing this type of hazard. Apparently, its more important to cut section staff, than grass and weeds.

  • cool video
