Sorry for the constant moving if it gets too distracting for you.

I had this keyboard for a long time now but couldn't use it for long periods since I lost my A/C adapter. But now I got a new one, and since I got a new camera I might as well try out its video capabilities.

The Casio LK-40 is a learner's keyboard but it was a quality one at the time with MIDI ports. It isn't pressure sensitive nor capable adding ports like a foot pedal, but it helps learning the basics. The demo song (aka song 00 is a cheap version of My Heart Will Go On (Titanic Theme)-Celine Dion.

1/24/11: Oh and this keyboard works with Rock Band 3 via the MIDI Pro Adapter. YAY! The 2nd and 3rd octaves function in the game, but sadly there's no pitch wheel present.

  • I wish the keys lit up on mine. (CTK-574). It uses an LCD. Strange how yours plays the same demo midi differently though. It must have a different sample set.

From watching your video, I'm going to say that Casio probably puts the same data into all their keyboards but cheaps out on a crappy soundboard to reduce costs. It's a guess, but thats the only thing I can come with for now.

  • price??

  • @TheHardstyler999

I wouldn't know, since my sister got this as a gift around 7-8(?) years ago. But it's an entry-level keyboard, so probably cheap for an instrument, expensive for those buying it as a play thing (not a toy).

  • my ctk700 had the exact same song! it also had my favorite song "there are 7 days".

  • muahaha *rofl*

  • @Fernandez5 I'm more willing to bet that the lower end models have less ROM space, and as such, a lower quality sound bank. Nothing more :P
