"Take off is towards the city with good views of Lough Foyle, Culmore, Muff, Inishowen, Inch and Lough Swilly and down the Foyle Estuary and up towards Gweedore and Errigal." is that not the opposite way from london?

Sure is but it takes a turn left and then flies down across N.Ireland and over the Irish Sea. Direction of take off depends on which way the wind is blowing. Sometimes they take off in the Limavady direction.
