I won't make comments about the political situation in Thailand and the people involved past and present. But what is certain is that Thailand still has a LONG way to go before it can solve it's problems out, there is great divide and the people needs to do things for the common good. Corruption will always be a factor - even in developed countries, as long as it does not deter the progress of the nation's development.
