@JezzlyJames this is 9fungusheads new account lol but im not talking about recently. i ment about a decade ago skiing was going out and then burton came along.. nobody had really ever heard of snowboarding and it became this new thing. it was new and lots of people started getting into it. im just saying that snowboarding was kind of a refreshing reminder of both sports if that makes sense.. a new sport to interest some and remind others of the sport they used to love.

@9fungusheads I don't think youre right about snowboarding saving skiing. Snowboarding made skiing look cool. But even if there were'nt any freestyle skiers there would still be a ton of old people with 2,5 meter skis and cross country skiers and stuuff like that. There are so many types of skiing disciplines at the winter olympics for ecsample, and snow boarding is just two or three disciplines

That is why lib tech just made new skis that they are selling. They need to sell skis cus they arent selling enough boards cus more ppl are skiing then boarding

i've met a lot of cool snowboarders in all my time skiing. here on the east coast we tend to savor our powder but when most riders come on our hills they scrape the powder right off while they just go down sideways on their edges. and a lot of them around here enjoy sitting in the middle of the slope? i love to see boarders shred the park but i think we can all agree snowboarders are a lot more reckless, and (on a local level not talking about pros) have a lot less experience than skiers.

dude i just wanna say that snowboarding totally saved skiing.... not as many people would be up on the mountain if it werent for snowboarding...skiing was sorta going out and then it became popular again becuase snowboarding came along thanks to jake burton..... i'm not saying that skiing sucks or snowboarding rocks... they both rock
