    "people buy new stuff to play new stuff" that's only half the truth. They also wanna play the old stuff, they don't just wanna walk away from games they thought were spectacular. BTW, more people will be complaining that the system ISN'T backwards compatible, than there will be people complaining that it costs an extra 20 dollars to write 1 minute worth of script and buy a multipurpose lense. I forgive you for your ignorance.

    It means, if you can play previous console games on the new one, i.e. Play PS2 games on the PS3 is possible, so the PS3 is backwards compatible.
